<낙하 (Falling)>

우리의 삶은 늘 어떤 방향 속에 놓여 있고, 그 안에서 흘러가며 각자의 속도로 흔적을 남긴다. 항아리 표면에 맺힌 유약의 물방울은 아래를 향해 끝없이 내려가며, 어디에서 멈출지 알 수 없는 상태로 존재한다

나는 이 유약의 흐름이 개인이 체감하는 시간과는 다른 시점에서 다르게 읽힐 수 있기를 바란다. 가까이에서는 그저 버텨야 했던 시간의 흔적처럼 보일지라도 멀리서 바라보면 그것이 하나의 형식과 아름다움으로 읽힐 수 있다는 가능성, 그 바람을 이 작업 안에 남기고자 했다.

한 개인은 자신의 삶 안에서는 떨어지고 있다고 느낄 수 있지만, 거리를 두고 바라보면 그 하강은 서로 모여 하나의 형식과 아름다움을 만든다. 나는 이 흐름을 삶의 한 장면, 곧 낙하에 비유한다.


<Falling>
Life is always moving in a certain direction, flowing onward and leaving traces at its own pace. The droplets of glaze gathered on the surface of the jar appear to fall endlessly downward, as if in a state where it is impossible to know where they will come to rest. I hope that this flow of glaze can be read differently from a perspective that is not the same as the time an individual feels and experiences.

Up close, it may seem like nothing more than the trace of time one had to endure, but from a distance, there is the possibility that it can be read as a single form and a kind of beauty. I wanted to leave that possibility within this work. An individual may feel, within their own life, that they are falling, but when viewed from a distance, that descent gathers together to create one form and beauty. I liken this flow to a scene from life—falling.
