<Moon Jar: Color Pot> 시리즈는 한국 전통 달항아리의 형태를 출발점으로, 달항아리의 익숙한 조형에 현대적인 색감을 더한 작업이다. 표면의 거친 흰색 질감 위로 더해진 채도 높은 색감은 전통이 지닌 무게감과 거리감을 완화하며, 형태와 색의 대비를 통해 한국 전통 항아리를 지금의 감각으로 새롭게 바라보게 한다. 또한 ‘색’이라는 요소를 통해 전통의 이미지를 보다 유연하게 확장하고, 일상 속에서 친근하게 마주할 수 있는 대상으로 전환한다. 이를 통해 달항아리의 형태를 동시대의 감각으로 재구성하며, 일상 속에서 새롭게 경험할 수 있는 오브제로 확장하고자 한다

The <Moon Jar: Color Pot >series takes the form of the traditional Korean moon jar as its point of departure, adding contemporary colors to the moon jar’s familiar structure. The highly saturated colors applied over the rough white surface soften the weight and distance associated with tradition, and the contrast between form and color invites viewers to see the traditional Korean jar through a contemporary sensibility. It also expands the image of tradition in a more flexible way through the element of ‘color’, transforming it into something that can be encountered more intimately in everyday life. Through this process, the series reconfigures the moon jar form with a contemporary sensibility, seeking to expand it into an object that can be newly experienced in daily life.
